|Discover the best places to walk your dog in the San Francisco Bay Area
With its cosmopolitan culture, mild weather and world-class location, San Francisco is a great place to live… for humans. Our dogs aren’t so sure. To them the City by the Bay can mean lots of concrete, car exhaust, and walking around city blocks on a leash.
Luckily for both of us, San Francisco has some great dog parks where dogs can run off leash and their owners can enjoy the Bay Area’s natural environment and urban cityscape. San Francisco’s dog parks run the spectrum from Dolores Park’s sloping grass fields in the heart of the Mission, to the trails and meadows of Golden Gate Park, to the high dunes, beach grass, and old military batteries at Fort Funston. The hard part is knowing where to go.
